I'd been planning to start right in on Blender for Dummies but I just discovered that a new edition should be coming out on September 27. Rather than start out with an older edition, I'm going to run through the first chapter of The Essential Blender (I'll have copies as hand-outs so you won't have to buy it) and we can see about moving to the new Dummies edition in October.

For September, it will be the basics, with a focus on the use of the numeric keypad and mouse and some of the difficulties this can cause on a laptop.
